International Society of Sustainability Professionals
The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) is a non-profit, member-driven association for professionals who are committed to making sustainability standard practice. As a member, we share resources and best practices, and develop ourselves professionally.
The British Columbia Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) is a not-for-profit association of citizens, professionals and practitioners committed to promoting sustainable energy in British Columbia. BCSEA envisions a future in which all of BC’s energy comes from clean, renewable, efficient sources.
The BC Environment Industry Association (BCEIA) is British Columbia’s most recognized and longest running professional business association dedicated to member companies that operate in the many sectors that define environmental defence writ large.

The BCEIA is committed to networking within the industry; establishing an effective industry liaison and advocacy presence; building partnerships; strengthening business development and competitiveness of its membership; increasing the product and service profiles of its members; and raising awareness of the industry in terms of its economic, human and environmental impact.

TheChange is a media platform for sustainability engagement. Their mission is to connect people with organizations leading social and environmental change in a relevant and engaging way.

Organizations, such as Rain City,  share their sustainability news, initiatives and opportunities and update the community on how they are participating in TheChange. People visiting TheChange learn how companies, non-profits and institutions are approaching sustainability and engage them in their sustainability journey.

Their goal is to have people discover organizations on TheChange that align with their sustainability interests and get involved as customers, employees, volunteers, students and general supporters of the movement towards a more sustainable world!

ClearlySo Canada is the first international affiliate of U.K. based clearlyso.com, the global marketplace and hub for social business, enterprise and investment.  ClearlySo.ca was launched in March of 2010 as a member driven community that celebrates, profiles, connects, and advocates for entrepreneurs who are using commercial ventures to address social and environmental issues and opportunities.

The organizations represented on clearlyso.ca, Like Rain City,  include charities operating related businesses, not-for profit organizations, social venture networks and hubs, and social purpose businesses.  They span all industry sectors and range in stage of development from early stage entrepreneurial ventures to established, multi-million dollar professionally managed enterprises.  What they share is a common commitment to incorporating social, environmental and ethical objectives into the fabric of their day to day commercial activities.  ClearlySo is dedicated to helping these enterprises succeed and maximize the value they create here in Canada and throughout the world.

Connecting Environmental Professionals (CEP) is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to promoting opportunities for networking, career development and capacity building.Their members include working professionals, future professionals and students from government, business, not-for-profit organizations and associations. CEP was launched in 2002 and has 400 members.

CEP is part of a national network, with chapters in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton operating under the name Young Environmental Professionals (YEP).

Building Opportunities with Business (BOB) is a non-profit organization that is championing an inclusive revitalization process for the inner-city that values existing businesses and residents. BOB is a connector, a resource and a facilitator working to: strengthen the inner-city’s community capacity; identify and build on untapped business opportunities; improve employment opportunities and retention; and increase investment in Vancouver’s inner-city.
Values-Based Business Network (VBN) is a chapter-member of Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE). It is North America’s fastest growing network of socially responsible businesses, comprised of over 80 community networks in 30 U.S. states and Canadian provinces representing over 22,000 independent business members across the U.S. and Canada. BALLE brings together independent business leaders, economic development professionals, government officials, social innovators, and community leaders to build local living economies. We provide local, state, national, and international resources to this new model of economic development.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a network-based organization that has pioneered the development of the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework and is committed to its continuous improvement and application worldwide.GRI’s vision is that disclosure on economic, environmental, and social performance become as commonplace and comparable as financial reporting, and as important to organizational success. Their mission is to create conditions for the transparent and reliable exchange of sustainability information through the development and continuous improvement of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Framework.
The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is the  global wind industry trade association, providing a credible and representative forum for the entire wind energy sector at the international level. Their mission is to ensure that wind power establishes itself as one of the world’s leading energy sources, providing substantial environmental and economic benefits.
The Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) is a non-profit, specialist change agent aiming to catalyse the market for renewable energy and energy efficiency, with a primary focus on emerging markets and developing countries.

The Partnership was established alongside the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. It is now comprised of 300 partners including 45 governments as well as a range of private companies and international organisations.

REEEP is supported primarily by governments (Australia, Austria, Canada, the European Union, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, the US and the United Kingdom) and by contributions from the private sector. Robust governance and monitoring structures ensure that all contributions are spent transparently and effectively.


Kiva - loans that change lives
Kiva’s mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva empowers individuals to lend to an entrepreneur across the globe. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva is creating a global community of people connected through lending.

As of November 2009, Kiva has facilitated over $100 million in loans. Rain City is proud to be on of the lenders.

The Board of Change is an inclusive organizational network that exists to develop and foster a new economic model that values the pursuit of sustainability equally with the pursuit of profit.
The Climate Registry is a nonprofit collaboration among North American states, provinces, territories and Native Sovereign Nations that sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry. The Registry supports both voluntary and mandatory reporting programs and provides comprehensive, accurate data to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

As a member, Rain City is proud to demonstrate our environmental leadership by voluntarily committing to measure, verify, and publicly report our greenhouse gas emissions to The Registry.

The Interstate Renewable Energy Council is a US non-profit organization committed to accelerating the sustainable utilization of renewable energy.
ICAB
The Industry Council for Aboriginal Business facilitates programs furthering dialogue and relationship-building between industry and Aboriginal communities in BC.
LoCoBC
LoCo BC is an innovative business organization focused on creating a diverse, vibrant local economy by strengthening small and mid-sized businesses. They do this by promoting buy local, by fostering business networking, and by ensuring businesses are on the path to sustainability.
